It beats being single
Families are the happiest group in our society, with 72% of people in families with kids under 18 reporting extreme or high degrees of satisfaction. This compares to 63% for families with no children, 61% for singles living with their parents and 55% for singles not living with their families.
Families are the people we trust most – more than friends, doctors, scientists or colleagues. On a scale of one to ten, 66% of people rank families between six and ten as trustworthy sources of information. Our families are also an endlessly fascinating topic of conversation. Talk about family matters is a frequent occurrence for 50% of us – that’s twice the time we spend talking about money and more than twice the time we spend talking about sport.
